What to buy when upgrading laptop?

I have an HP Pavilion DV8000. Here are my system specs: HP AMD Turion 64 Mobile 787 MHz, 512 MB RAM, 60 GB hard drive (only want to upgrade if it's cheap, I have an external hard drive) Windows XP Media Cener know those specifications look like shit but I love the big screen 17inch BrightView keyboard with numeric keypad. What should I upgrade to do better? Or I buy a new computer. If I buy a new computer, what I can get? All suggestions are useful! :) Thanks

Well you should get a new 17 "laptop today. Only I'm guessing, but your motherboard only supports DDR1 RAM. It DDR2! A bit DDR1 to expencive. In addition, recent outlets today have processors pinslots more advanced. I recommend you to buy a new one:) but still, it's your choice Download AIDA32, and view system specifications.
