I need to power a single burner hot plate with a portable power source. Does anybody have any ideas?
Hot plates usually connect to a power source with an AC plug. I would be looking for something like the Duracell PowerSource Mobile 100 (small and lightweight), but with enough wattage capacity to run a small appliance like this for about 30 minutes. Looking for any thoughts or ideas.

If it is something like the one in the first link, a six inch hotplate, then it needs 800W. There is no hope of running it from small or even quite large batteries.
The Duracell device is rated at 100W (see the second link), and has a 12V x 4Ah internal battery, so could provide 100W for about 30 minutes with luck.
Lets say you had a 1KW inverter to run from a larger 12V battery it would draw about 80A so an 80Ah battery would do the job if it didn’t overheat. However that is only likely to supply 8-15A without overheating. As you can see it becomes impractical, as you need batteries the size of a small fridge roughly.
The most portable device to do the job is a petrol generator, rated at 1KW or more. Don’t even think about running such a thing indoors. The carbon monoxide in the exhaust is hazardous.
