Does it matter that many people do not seem to know how to spell and score correctly?
I work in a large global corporation, and receive up to 50 messages e-mail every day. It is unusual if not include spelling and grammatical errors. Recent examples are: please send your FIGURE THE BY-FRIDAY-The appliance must have time – their hope at 10 am The market stalls are notorious for signs like: "Apple's finest" My instinct is to ask "apple finest is what? Finest apple seeds? Stalk? Skins? Does any of this matter, or are we doomed to descend to a world without punctuation, poor grammar and mobile phone text-speak? That's my grumpy for the day.
What matters. It is unlikely to change. I think less of someone who can not communicate accurately in their native language – is a barrier to communication. Minor mistakes happen here and there, not everyone has to be perfect, but some errors are too obvious to ignore. It seems that many people asking questions here (in English at least) have no idea how to form a complete sentence use punctuation or spell correctly.
