A research company called ABI Research recently released figures suggesting that the mobile phone industry could be in serious trouble. It was considered that mobile phone industry is one that will suffer from the global credit crisis and ABI Research figures will do little to help that. All feeling is that this year will mobile operators who struggle with standard mobile phone sales. Still, the white knight of mobile broadband looks as if it seriously could help the mobile phone companies of the major problems.
2008 saw three companies such as O2 and add many new packages to their broadband rates mobile. Now you can get speeds up to 7.2Mbps download and monthly allowances of up to 15 GB of this, along with the promise of laptops and netbooks free. The last quarter also saw the Virgin in the market for mobile broadband. This now means that all major mobile phone operators have mobile broadband offerings.
The research also hinted at 3G phones will also have a strong demand. High-profile phones such as the Blackberry Storm or iPhone will remain a high demand in 2009. About the Author
