How I can reduce the stress in my workplace?
I am a British engineering director at a design house in England. Design high-tech microchips for mobile phones. We are owned by a major U.S. carrier. I work with the U.S. workforce on a daily basis, But a report to the vice president, who is British. He is the founder of a British firm start-up that made it big and made his millions (and a little for us) by selling to the U.S. company. He has his conservative views on how the design house should retain its British approach that made it so successful. U.S. want us to use its procedures, but this makes the engineers here to work late when the U.S. awake (8hr time difference). He hates the kind of place has become and wants to leave in a year or so (when its shares vest). Its inevitable that eventually swept into the arms of the hyper-global corporation! Unfortunately for me to lead a team of engineers from the UK and U.S.. So how I can afford? The more Americanized to get the tougher it gets.
I work in a stressful environment. First, you must take care of yourself – get out and walk in every break you have. Try to get out, if not, walk inside. Eat right, bring your lunch and snacks. Be healthy. Other employees will see what you're doing and one by one will. Try to press for a gym, picnic tables outside the workplace, outdoor green areas. Healthy foods in vending machines and cafeteria.
