Third-generation mobile-3G
Third generation mobile are generally called as 3G mobile. IMT-2000 (International Mobile International-2000) better known as 3 rd generation or 3G. This is the generation of standards for mobile telecommunications and mobile phone services on compliance with the terms of the International Telecommunication Union. The functions of these types of mobile phones include mobile Internet access, telephone wide-area wireless voice, mobile TV and video calls, all in a mobile environment. 3G systems have to allocate the simultaneous use of voice and data services to over 2G and 2.5G standards, and also provides peak data rates low for at least 200 kilos per second according to the pattern of IMT-2000. Latest releases 3G and 3.5G to 3.75G indicated rate and also offer wireless broadband access for smartphones and laptops to several mega bits / sec.
The UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecommunications System), standardized by 3GPP, first offered in 2001, used in Japan, Europe, China, with an interface radio and other areas with a predominance of GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) system 2G infrastructure. These mobile phones are usually hybrid GSM and UMTS. The Multiple Access (CDMA Code Division) 2000 system, standardized by 3GPP2, initially offered in 2002, which is used primarily in South Korea North America, sharing of infrastructure with the 2G IS-95 standard. These phones are normally andCDMA2000 IS-95 hybrids.
The lists over radio interfaces and systems are based on widely available technology related radio emission. Considering that wireless phones DECT, GSM EDGE standard ("2.9g") and mobile WiMAX standards also officially carry out the requirements of IMT-2000 and are accepted as standard 3G by ITU, which is generally not 3G brand and based on completely different technologies.
About ten years a new generation cellular standards have emerged as 1G system launched in 1981/1982. Each generation is different from higher data rates, new bands frequencies and not backward compatible transmission technology. 4G systems are likely to arise in the period 2011-2013 as the pre-4G systems such as mobile WiMAX LTE (Long Term Evolution) have come to the hearing and after 2020 could be fifth-generation systems. The initial version of the 3GPP LTE standard is not fully to achieve the ITU 4G called IMT-Advanced requirements.
