What does Northwestern look for in a QB?
What kind of offense does Northwestern run? Is it a spread based on the pass or the run. This year they had a pass first BJ in CJ Bacher but they will start the very mobile Mike Kafka. So what kind of skills do I need to attract the interest of a program like Northwestern? I live near the school and I really want to play QB there but I have been struggling to pick up a read on what Northwestern looks for in their QBs besides the obvious traits: accuracy, mobility, vision etc. My high school runs an option, run first offense but I am going to their recruit camp this summer. When I get there I really want the coaches to say “this guy was made for us”. This is a complex question with a lot of specifics so I need some detail driven football minds who knows about college, better yet Northwestern/Big Ten, football.
Well they want a QB who is effective passing and a decent runner. Oh you have to be pretty big too cause i cold probably play for them if i wasn’t 5’8″!! IDK you just have to be tall and throw a decent ball if you wanna play QB. I threw for 3,000 yds, 36tds, and ran for 600 yds and 3 more TD’s against some of the best teams in Northern California but i didn’t get any offers. You probably run fast so ou should start throwin maybe get with a QB coach if you wanna play D1.
