DFCAS came and inspected my home this morning…?
and has deemed in their infinite wisdom that our home is “more than adequate” for my little niece i’ll be adopting to be placed with us. However, they mentioned things like electric socket coverlets, cabinet locks, and tables edge bumpers once the child begins being mobile (she’s barely 4 months now). Now, I have been asking on PLENTY of site other than this one about my problem because I NEED te feedback because I have no idea how to raise a baby. Now, where can I find these locks, bumpers, and coverlets at? Are they at Wally world? Targets? I mean, I’ve never had a reason to look for this typer of stuff before and no one in my circle of friends have kids, only distant, distant relatives. Plus what do they mean by “adequate”? We own a $125,000 home and we both work. We are getting minimal assistant from the state, but the case worker is trying to get us vouchers for the nutra-whatever milk because we do not qualifly for wic, as a special execption.
They mean that you can raise this child with no problems. Also, you can get any of that stuff “baby proofing” from Walmart. It is fairly inexpensive. Congrats and I am proud that you are raising the baby. They are a joy. The milk is nutramigen and is about $20.00 a can!!! I have had 2 that had to drink the special milk. The child really needs lots of love and attention. Have you found a child care provider? Be sure to check the provider out thoroughly.
