Best synthetic oil for use in a Hemi engine also how long I can go between oil changes with synthetic?
My wife and I bought a 2006 Dodge Durango with a hemi used had only 15,000 miles and I wanted to use only synthetic oil in it. Oil change only what we made it bought mobile 1 synthetic oil and use it. I am looking into the circular car part shops in the area and found the same package 5 quarts of oil and an oil filter for $ 30. I was going with this again. I was wondering if anyone out there is a mechanic who can offer advice on what is the best synthetic oil use. I was also looking website belle-tires and their own oil changes they state if you use synthetic you can go up to 10,000 miles between changes oil only has to maintain proper oil level. Is that true?
You'll have 50 people they say change oil every 3,000 miles, because that's the way they have always done. But the fact is that Mobil 1 will remain in good shape after 10,000 miles. I've been using and changing so often since 73 does not even have to pull a valve cover in any engine. That $ 30 for 5 liters of Mobil 1 and Mobil filter is good business. I just got that Pepboys.
