Would you contribute $20 to a fund to promote shifting to a hydrogen economy?
Given that hydrogen is a way to power mobile equipment, and that hydrogen can be made from seawater, as can wave-power-derived electricity, would you contribute out of your own wallet to the development of non-polluting, if initially more expensive hydrogen technology for human transportation and power consumption needs?
Shoot, Id contribute $100, especially if I knew for sure that we could stop sending $$ to the Middle East and to the commies in South America, and that I would save money in the long run in fueling my car and powering my house. Anything that breaks our foreign oil dependance, stops polluting the environment, and costs less doesnt sound like it has a down side to me.
