car alternator on my wind mill how do i take this inverter and connect it to the alternator ?

do i have to strip the wire and twist in on the wires connect to the alternator ? if that even make sense ??
you need to charge a battery from the alternator
the inverter is connected to the battery
the inverter is not to be connected directly to the alternator
