Derrick Avery aka “Pimp Snooky”, who now goes by the name of Mr. Marjani, maintains that the FBI gave him the green light to become a pimp. The FBI, through special agent Matt Gibson created, educated and funded Avery to become a Pimp in order for him to infiltrate and befriend the African-American entertainment community including hip-hop artists, athletes and other notorious pimps. Evidence will be introduced in the Federal trial that is expected sometime next year.
Avery is currently charged in a fourteen count indictment for sex trafficking, if convicted, could carry a life sentence. Avery’s attorney, Nishay K. Sanan, stated that “Avery denies the allegations and is adamant of proving his innocence at trial”.
Avery further asserts that he was paid by multiple filmmakers to play the fabricated character of a violent Pimp and that none of it, however realistic it may seem, actually happened. According to Avery, the “ho’s” documented in the various films and the Jerry Springer Show were actually the mothers of his children, some of them ex-exotic dancers, but not one of whom has a prostitution charge that he is aware of and that most importantly, it was all staged; including his winning of the “Pimp of the Year” Award in 1998 at a Player’s Association Ball. The violence described in these films was a scripted farce in order to boost sales and draw worldwide interest.
