How I can upgrade my Windows Mobile version 5.0 to 6.1?
I have an i-mate JAM. I wondered how I could upgrade WM5 to WM6.1. I searched Google, but have not found much. I hope to be some good answers. Thanks for your help!
For best results, obtain the update Manufacturer ROM. At present there seems to be that there is a WM6.1 upgrade for the JAM. In the U.S.: https: / / www.imate.com/st-WindowsMobile6_1.aspx All others: http://www.imate.com select your country. Click "Help" at the top. Click on "Windows Mobile 6.1" in the left hand. This will take to a page on how to upgrade your phone, if an update is available. When the update is made available, be careful to follow the instructions carefully! And all you need to backup your phone before proceeding. Doing this will erase everything on your phone. The files on the card storage (no e-mails or caches) will be fine. (To save text messages and things like that, try using Google PIM Backup 2.8. It is a free copy very nice security program for WM5 and 6.)
